Located in the hearts of many and here on the internet, 826CHI has a physical address too! In the Wicker Park neighborhood and within walking distance of over a
dozen schools, 826CHI is close to public transportation, a grocery store, and not one, but two wig stores. Stop on by and say hello.
As you are making your way down Chicago’s Milwaukee Avenue, keep your eyes to the sky. When you see a 200-squarefoot orange awning emblazoned with The Boring Store hovering over 1331, you know you are in the “write” place.
Well, almost. Walk through the door and journey through our spy store and arrive at the entrance to our capacious, table-filled writing room replete with pencils, computers, books, paper, students, and volunteers who are excited to write!
Getting to 826CHI
By Train
We are close to the Division Blue Line “L” Stop. If you’re coming from the Loop, take the Blue line toward O’Hare. We are about a 5 minute walk up Milwaukee Avenue.
By Bus
Right off of the #56 MILWAUKEE bus. We’re also within close walking distance of the #9 ASHLAND, #70 DIVISION and #72 NORTH.
By Car
From the loop, head up Milwaukee Ave.
From Southbound 90/94, take the North Ave. exit. From Northbound 90/94 take the Division St. exit.
From elsewhere in the city, we are close to where Milwaukee, Ashland and Division cross.
From the North take the North stop exit off of 90/94. In the city, take Ashland to Milwaukee or Division to Milwaukee.
There is plenty of metered street parking around 826CHI, including an alley just across the street that butts up against “L” tracks.
