The 826CHI Compendium is an annually produced publication, featuring work created by students during our various programs, as well as at-large submissions from student writers throughout the Chicago area.

We welcome writers ages 6 to 18 to join our ranks by submitting work of which they are especially proud to our next publication. These submissions may or may not include essays, poetry, short stories, lyrics, news articles, comics, reviews, lists, character sketches, journal entries, instructions, interviews, opinion articles, reconnaissance</br>findings, memoirs, missives, declarations, plays, graphic novels, fables, factoids pertaining to the long-tailed weasel, limericks, jokes, gardening tips, odes, gross exaggerations, sound advice, exceptionally good recipes for chocolate chip muffins, and flights of fancy.

While we regret that we are unable to publish every submission we receive for the Compendium, each piece will be carefully considered by our editors, and students will receive constructive comments on their work. 826 is unable to return all submissions back to students, so we request that you send us a duplicate of your work and keep the original copy for yourself. We look forward to receiving your submission for the next volume of The 826CHI Compendium!
