Programs for your Students

After School tutoring

Free after-school tutoring Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., most every day Chicago Public Schools are in school. Tutors are available to work one-on-one with students on writing assignments, homework of all subjects, and publishing projects. Parents must attend an orientation session before their student is able to attend the program, for upcoming orientation sessions click here.

Workshops

During evenings, weekends, and throughout the summer, 826CHI offers free workshops in topics like short stories, comic book making, photography and writing, and food-inspired memoir writing. There are also some really crazy ones like Travel the World Through Chocolate and Sock Puppet Theater. All of our workshops are led by talented volunteers — including published authors, editors, educators, playwrights, actors, journalists, and artists — and feature small class sizes to ensure your student gets quality instruction in each workshop.

We will put your students’ writing into print.
