826CHI’s Writing Lab featured in “dialogue” by Gensler

“Playing on an “international spy” theme, the center features Morse-coded library shelves and murals that urge the students to “journey in their minds to exotic locations like Paris or Marrakesh, where spies might travel.”

826CHI’s very own Esperanza R has been recognized on Chicago’s Rising Star Honor Roll for her creative work! We’re thrilled to see her be honored on Monday, August 28th at Millennium Park alongside the likes of Common, Jeanne Gang, Kerry James Marshall, and Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

We’re Seeking a Teaching Artist!

June 21st—

826CHI is hiring its first-ever Teaching Artist! We're looking for an experienced art educator to co-lead our annual summer writing workshop, The Word Lab, a visual arts-based writing program for 1st through 5th graders. The successful applicant is an art educator with experience engaging elementary-aged English language learners in a community-based setting.
