“P.S. You Sound Like Someone I Can Trust” Book Release at Printers Row Lit Fest

May 10th—

Join 826CHI and the students of our Young Authors Book Project on Saturday, June 10th for a landmark release at Printers Row Lit Fest. P.S. You Sound Like Someone I Can Trust is an anthology of letters written between Little Village 8th graders and Andersonville 10th graders this school year.  Their initially careful but increasingly personal conversations run the gamut from reflections on identity, hopes and anxieties about the future to loved ones’ deaths and Netflix recommendations.

You’re invited to witness not only the release of their book, but also our students’ first real life meeting! Copies of the book will be for sale at the festival, and you’ll even have the opportunity to meet our young authors for autographs!

Saturday, June 10th. 1:30 PM. Jones College Prep, 4th Floor, 4038. See you there >>

Help Our Students Grow this Spring

April 25th—

Spring is the time when flowers, plants, and trees start to grow tall and bloom. In the summer, trees and flowers will continue to grow.
- “Spring,” by Heikki E.

Like plants, young minds don’t stop growing because the school year ends. Our summer programs help students practice writing skills and mitigate learning loss in ways that are student-centered, inquiry based, and fun. Through the summer, next year, and beyond, you can help us nurture Chicago’s students. Donate today, and help a young mind grow––beautiful as a flower, tall as a tree, surprising and wonderful as a taco plant.

And, as thanks for a recurring donation, you’ll receive a book of student work and a tote bag to take it on your next taco-crazy adventure.
