I Forgot To Make You Breakfast

I Forgot To Make You Breakfast

November 5th—

Last night, we celebrated the release of the latest chapbook from our After-School Tutoring and Writing program: I Forgot To Make You Breakfast. Many of the students featured in the book were here to read their work to a capacity audience or students, parents, and tutors. We even had an amateur comedian on hand to warm up the crown for us.

If you missed the event we urge you to check out some pictures from the event over on Flickr, or even better to read a few selections from the chapbook in our Writing Gallery, or even better yet, to come on into The Boring Store and purchase your very own copy of I Forgot To Make You Breakfast.

Disguise Your Taste Buds

Disguise Your Taste Buds

November 11th—

The mouths have spoken! Disguise Your Taste Buds is back.

Please join us Friday, November 12th, at 7pm, as we eat "miracle berries" and transform our taste buds. While under the berries' tongue-bending powers, we'll try as many foods, dressings, condiments, and drinks as we can in a covertly palatable evening that promises to be both delicious and surreal. Not familiar with "miracle berries"? A sweet briefing can be found here and here.

We'll provide food and drink, but we encourage you to bring something to gastronomically experiment with, as well. Tickets are only $15 and are available right below and in The Boring Store. We expect these tickets to sell out quickly, so purchase a ticket and reserve your spot now!

TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT!

The Instructions Book Release with Adam Levin

The Instructions Book Release with Adam Levin

October 21st—

It is not everyday that a Chicagoan writes a book that is thick as a brick. It is not everday that a 1000 page book written by a Chicagoan has New York magazine naming it as one of its "20 most anticipated books of the Fall." It is not everyday that we can gather lovers of literature, critically hyped tomes, bricks, Chicago and the like in one place.

This is not everyday. Join The Instructions author Adam Levin and 826CHI as we celebrate the release of his book! There will be drinks and snacks. Admission is free! Please RSVP at [email protected]
