At 826CHI, we are proud to publish our students’ writing. Students are challenged to produce their finest pieces, knowing that the words will have the opportunity to be read, laughed at, wept over, or deeply pondered by their family, friends and folks they’ve never met.

    After-School Tutoring

    826CHI’s site is packed four afternoons
    a week with students working on their homework and honing their writing skills.

    On weekday mornings, we welcome classes from local schools for lively writing-based field trips hosted
    at our site.

    Designed to foster creativity, strengthen writing skills, and provide students with a forum to
    execute projects they otherwise might not have the

    826CHI offers a range of entirely free programming for high school students.

    Because it can be difficult for teachers and students to make it to our center during the school day, 826CHI brings the program to the schools.

    As a writing center, we are especially committed to publishing student work for our writers to
    share with their friends, family, the public at-large, and the entire universe.

    826CHI partners with a number of non-profit organizations throughout Chicago. Through our partnership program, we strive to reach audiences that we don’t often see at our center.
