Haoshu Sascha Deng was born in Shanghai, China, and later immigrated to Greater Boston Area. She is a multimedia artist working in moving images, sound, and design, and is always looking to acquire new skills for crafts. She studied Radio/TV/Film and Philosophy at Northwestern University where she received capstone for the Directing for the Screen module, and her short narrative fiction films and documentaries have been shown at festivals in the US, UK, and Canada. She is also passionate about youth development and education, previously a part of the Youth Team in Education and Human Services of the City of Chicago and continues to be involved in after school academic tutoring and programming. Haoshu currently resides in the Logan Square neighborhood. Her favorite book from childhood is “Sophie’s World”, and her newest favorite hobby is playing with clay.
