The Director will contribute vision, expertise, and strategy to 826CHI’s programs and growth. 826CHI is expanding to serve more students in Chicago Public Schools in the upcoming two years. The Development Manager supports all aspects of fundraising as established in our annual development plan, playing a key role in achieving goals set in 826CHI’s annual budget. 826CHI is looking for an result-focused, committed individual who is excited to join a hard-working, mission-driven team that has a passion for expanding access to creative youth development in Chicago. The Development Manager will make a significant impact on Chicago youth by raising funds to support 826CHI’s mission. The Communications Manager supports the development and execution of the 826CHI’s strategy for all communications. Working in collaboration with staff, interns, and skilled volunteers, this role is responsible for the co-development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communications, marketing, and public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization. Additionally, the Communications Manager is an ambassador for 826CHI, building authentic relationships on behalf of the organization. The overarching goal of this position is to advance 826CHI’s visibility to new and existing audiences and to boost financial resources that support youth programs.
The Volunteer Manager oversees all aspects of volunteer and intern engagement at 826CHI. This includes the planning, execution, and evaluation of volunteer initiatives. 826CHI seeks someone with experience building community-based relationships and managing a diverse team of volunteers. This person is a skilled communicator (to all ages and all levels of learners), is flexible with their schedule (this position requires some evening and weekend availability), is a thoughtful educator (knows how to hold space for youth and how to teach others to do the same), and is willing to travel across Chicago to engage volunteers in a range of community settings and neighborhoods. The successful candidate will exhibit an attitude that is equal parts can-do and can-inspire-others-to-do.
