Shawn is Chief Marketing Officer of Chicago-based software company Sertifi, where he leads the company’s go-to-market strategy, growth planning, and marketing execution. Prior to Sertifi, Shawn led marketing teams ranging from 2 to 90 team members at HR tech company Able and legal tech company Relativity. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, but now a Chicago resident of 16 years, Shawn got his start as a writer – doing everything from film reviews for an alternative weekly newspaper to technical documentation for an industrial supplies distributor. He pivoted to marketing after going back to school for his MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Shawn loves attending comic book conventions with his sons, competing in obstacle course races, watching and dissecting movies, and never giving up on crossword puzzles. Shawn first started volunteering with 826CHI in 2006 and wonders where the time has gone.
